Customer Ordering Disclaimer — Weight Adjustments

Palenque facilitates orders of fresh produce, meat, fish, and other goods sold by weight. By placing an order you acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding estimated vs final weights and any price adjustments that may apply.
1. Estimated Weight vs Final Weight
Products listed with a per-kilogram price are sold based on estimated weight at the time of order. The final weight is determined at the time the vendor packs and prepares the order, and may differ from the estimated weight shown during checkout.
2. Price Adjustment Procedure
- If the final weight is greater than the ordered weight, the vendor will notify the customer via the Palenque app or SMS and request payment for the additional amount prior to delivery completion.
- If the final weight is less than the ordered weight, the customer will be refunded the price difference through the original payment method where applicable, or via a coupon/credit issued by Palenque.
3. Payment Options for Adjustments
Adjustments can be settled in one of the following ways (depending on the payment method used and the vendor’s options):
- COD — rider collects the additional amount at delivery.
- GCash / Mobile Wallet — vendor or rider will provide a payment QR / request for the difference; customer can complete payment before delivery handover.
- Prepaid (online) — any underpayment will be refunded; any overpayment situation will be handled by issuing a coupon or partial refund as appropriate.
4. Disputes & Evidence
Customers who dispute a weight or quality adjustment must notify Palenque within 2 hours of delivery with photo evidence. Palenque will coordinate with the vendor and rider and assess the claim. Decisions will be made case-by-case.
5. Vendor Obligations
- Vendors must accurately weigh produce on calibrated scales.
- Vendors must record final weight and price adjustments where possible and communicate the change to the customer before completion of delivery.
